Movies Under the Moon Include Pet Tricks, Caped Crusaders

Grab your family and a blanket and head to Van Dyck Park this weekend for a free movie and more.

The viewing field opens at 6:30 p.m. Local musicians will start performing at 7 p.m. The movies kick off at dusk. Food will be provided for a fee. Proceeds benefit INOVA Fairfax Hospital for Children and Cox Charities.

• Friday is Pet Night

Movie: "How to Train Your Dragon"

Special events: Local teen group Nocturnal Rush performs before the movie. Kids can get in on art games hosted by Adam Lister and the city's Parks & Recreation Department.

Food: Red Hot & Blue, The Big Cheese Truck, Chick-fil-A, Knights of Columbus, Ben & Jerry's and whatever Truro Church brings.

Bonus: Leashed pets are welcome. The Happy Woof offers prizes to those pets that win a trick contest

• Saturday is for Superheroes

Movie: "Iron Man 2"

Special events: School of Rock takes the stage while Lister and Parks & Rec provide art activities.

Food: Sabora's Street Truck, Chick-fil-A, Red Hot & Blue, Knights of Columbus, Ben & Jerry's, Truro Church

Bonus: Come dressed as a superhero. Best costumes win prizes.

• Sunday is a Fiesta

Movie: "Real Women Have Curves"
