Police Arrest Rotisserie Chicken Thief, Interrupt Allison Circle Party

Police activity at the end of April.

Fairfax City Police stopped by Icons, Buffalo Wing, Truro Church and Allison Circle at the end of April for stolen items, fights and noise complaints. Read on for more criminal antics.

April 23

  • 11:10 a.m.: A man tried to leave the Safeway on Willard Way with a stolen rotisserie chicken. The store manager called police, who arrested Armando Sanchez, 41, of no fixed address for the crime. Sanchez was charged with petit larceny.
  • 2:34 p.m.: Unknown person(s) stole an unattended laptop from the Fairfax City Regional Library.

April 27

  • 9:38 a.m.: A woman told police that someone(s) had taken the front license plate from her vehicle, which was parked at the Willard Health Center on Old Lee Highway.
  • 8:21 p.m.: A Scout Drive resident realized someone(s) had stolen her credit card number and made an unauthorized purchase in Maryland sometime between April 18-22.

April 28

  • 10:07 p.m.: A Buffalo Wing University employee was assaulted by a man. The suspect left the scene in a vehicle with someone else. Officers stopped him nearby and took both into custody. Kevin James Watts, Jr., 24, of Alexandria, was charged with malicious wounding and drunk in public and transported to the Adult Detention Center, where he was ordered held without bond. The other occupant of the vehicle, Jonathan Alexander Jimenez, 24, of 9607 Masey McQuire Court, Lorton, was charged with drunk in public and also transported to the Adult Detention Center. The 21-year-old victim was transported to a medical facility for treatment.

  • 2:36 a.m.: When officers arrived near Truro Church to confront a man who was walking in the middle of the street, they got a little more than they asked for. Omar Almendarez, 18, of Leesburg allegedly kicked an officer in the chest and tried to damage a police cruiser in the church parking lot. He was charged with assault on a police officer and drunk in public.
  • 9:11 a.m.: Gianncarlo Escamilla, 18, of no fixed address, was arrested after allegedly stealing merchandise from the K-Mart on Jermantown Road. He was charged with petit larceny.
  • 3:29 p.m.: A Hana Oriental Supermarket employee contacted police after realizing that a customer had made three separate purchases in May and June of 2010 with corporate checks that were eventually denied for having insufficient funds. The employee had been unable to reach the corporation to receive payment.
  • 5:52 p.m.: Someone(s) stole an unattended laptop from Comes A Time Tattoo Parlor on Old Lee Highway.

April 30

  • 1:44 a.m.: Police stopped by a loud party in the 4200 block of Allison Circle for the second time that night to issue a noise violation summons to Kevin Thomas Healy, 22.
  • 3:53 p.m.: A woman contacted police after someone(s) stole her unattended cell phone from an office building on Chain Bridge Road.
  • 6:05 p.m.: James Kenneth Mize, 42, of no fixed address, was arrested for allegedly stealing a pair of sunglasses. He was charged with concealment.

May 1

  • 2:04 a.m.: Someone(s) stole a purse with cash, credit cards, identification, keys and a cell phone from a table inside Icons Sports Lounge on Main Street. Another victim's digital camera and cell phone had been inside the purse when it was taken.
