Police: Attempted Abduction on Scott Drive, Orchard Street Burglary

Police activity over the last two weeks.

Fairfax City Police are investigating an attempted abduction and burglary from late September. More incidents listed below:

  • 10200 Block of Main Street: Someone(s) scratched doors of parked vehicle between noon and 2:23 p.m. Oct. 6.
  • 8 Percent Bail Bonds: An employee told police that a man was causing a disturbance and refusing to leave the bail bonds business at around 4 p.m. Oct. 6. John Whitfield Stark, 49, of no fixed address, was taken into custody and charged with trespassing and possession of alcohol by an interdicted person. He was transported to the Adult Detention Center where his bond was set at $500.
  • Fairfax Boulevard/Fairchester Drive: A motorcyclist tried to elude an officer while speeding at 4:49 a.m. on Oct. 7. Instead of getting away, Larry Davis, 37, of 3070 Southern Elm Court hit a curb at Fairfax Circle and fell over. He was taken into custody and transported to the Adult Detention Center where he was charged with felony speed to elude and his bond was set at $1,000. He also was issued a summons for speeding.
  • Mosby Woods Condominiums: Someone(s) stole a 1991 Volkswagen Jetta from the condo parking lot between 11 p.m. Oct. 4 and 2 p.m. the next day. 
  • Peking Village II Restaurant: Someone(s) cut a lock off and emptied a used frying oil storage container between June 7 and Aug. 5.
  • 3400 Block of Chain Bridge Road: Two residents told police they paid for chimney work between June and October that was either never finished or incomplete. The patrol division identified a suspect and secured a warrant charging the subject with accepting advance payment for construction work without completing repairs was obtained.
  • Office Building on 10301 Democracy Lane: Someone(s) stole a wallet (with cash, credit cards, gift cards and identification) from a purse in a desk drawer sometime in the afternoon hours on Oct. 3. The credit cards were used to make multiple unauthorized purchases.
  • Ulta: A store manager stopped a woman from leaving with concealed merchandise at around 1:30 p.m. Oct. 4. Norma Arce, 49, of undetermined address, was placed under arrest for petit larceny and transported to the Adult Detention Center where her bond was set at $1000.
  • Fairfax Square Office Building: Someone(s) stole a wallet (with cash, credit cards, identification) from a purse in an office between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Oct. 4. The credit cards were used to make unauthorized purchases in Washington, DC.
  • Sidney Lanier Middle School: Someone(s) stole a student's iPhone from her locker sometime between 7:50 a.m. and 12:59 p.m. on Sept. 28.
  • CVS Pharmacy on Fairfax Boulevard: A store manager told police two men left the CVS with a large quantity of hair care products at around 3 p.m. Oct. 3.
  • 10700 Block of Scott Drive: A 21-year-old woman told police at 4:29 a.m. that two unknown men approached her while she was walking her dog on Sept. 30. They tried to talk to her, grabbing at her clothes as she ran to her house. The men fled toward Burrowes Avenue on foot. She was uninjured. Officers could not find the men. The case is being investigated.
  • Enterprise Leasing on Fairfax Boulevard: Someone(s) stole a dealer license plate from a vehicle in the parking lot someone on Sept. 21.
  • 10800 Block of Orchard Street: Someone(s) entered a home and stole a large quantity of jewelry between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Sept. 29. The case is being investigated.
  • Starbucks on Main Street: A manager told police that someone(s) stole a tip jar from the store counter sometime after 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 1. The tip jar had cash in it.
