Police: Multiple Cars Vandalized on Main Street

Fairfax City Police have received multiple reports of cars being vandalized while parked on Main Street this week.

Fairfax City Police have received multiple reports of vehicle vandalism and larceny on Main Street this week.

On November 3 at 7 a.m., the owners of four vehicles reported that unknown person(s) had smashed windows on their locked parked vehicles sometime after 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 2. A briefcase containing cash and identification was taken from one of the vehicles.

The property manager of an office building on 10875 Main Street told police Tuesday that unknown person(s) had spray painted graffiti on the inside of the building’s elevator sometime between 4 p.m. on Oct. 31 and 8 a.m. on Nov. 3.

Also recently reported was an incident in which a woman falsely claimed to be the driver of a vehicle involved a crash on Old Pickett Road.

A female subject told police she had been driving one of two vehicles involved in a crash Nov. 3 at 3:47 p.m. and that a male subject with her at the time had been a passenger. An investigation revealed the male subject, who was unlicensed, had been driving the vehicle at the time of the crash.

Maria Chavez, 51, of Annandale, was charged with obstruction of justice and released on a summons.
