Police Work Stolen Car, Spray Paint, Unlawful Entry Cases

Fairfax City Police activity last week.

Fairfax City Police returned a stolen car, mapped graffiti through the city, and arrested a man for trying to break into another's home last week. Here are the details:

  • Police are looking for someone(s) who stole a woman's purse at the CVS on Main Street sometime between 2:30-2:40 p.m. Friday. The purse had been left inside of a relative's parked vehicle.
  • An A Plus Motors employee contacted police last Tuesday after finding graffiti spray painted on the outside walls of the Fairfax Boulevard business. The vandalism occurred within the past week.
  • Two city signs posted near the intersection of Chain Bridge Road and Warwick Avenue got a similar treatment. A police officer found them covered with spray paint last Tuesday afternoon.
  • An electrical box at the intersection of Main Street and Burke Station Road didn't escape the spray paint scourge. A patrol officer found it vandalised last Tuesday morning.
  • Police returned a car that had been marked stolen from Fairfax County. An officer at the intersection of University Drive and Chancery Park Road was notified of the car's status after using a license plate reader on it Friday night. The car had been parked legally on the street.
  • A Providence Way woman told police that her debit card was taken from her wallet and used to withdraw money from her bank account at about 2 p.m. on Friday.
  • Adrian Ortiz, 21, of Carolyn Avenue was arrested early Sunday morning after he allegedly tried to break into a Peterson Street home. He was charged with attempting to enter the property of another for the purpose of damaging it.
  • Police are looking for someone(s) who took a cell phone from the Fairfax Boulevard Outback Steakhouse at 8 p.m. on Saturday.
