The Providence Celebrates Grand Opening in MetroWest

New assisted living and memory care community adds to senior living options in the Fairfax area

Silverstone Senior Living and Watermark Retirement Communities executives, public officials and community members gathered for a ribbon cutting ceremony and reception to celebrate the official grand opening of The Providence, a brand-new assisted living and memory care community located in Fairfax’s MetroWest neighborhood.

Fairfax County legislative aide Mike Wing joined The Providence’s executive director Annamarie Mariani-Huehn, sales director Amanda Max, a resident, Silverstone’s Denny Alberts and Bobby Zeiller along with Watermark’s Karen Mlawsky and the Central Fairfax Chamber of Commerce’s executive director Jennifer Rose in cutting the ribbon on Thursday, September 30th.

The Providence, owned by Silverstone Senior Living and operated by Watermark Retirement Communities, is a 154-unit assisted living and memory care community that opened in March 2021. Construction began in May 2019.

“We are exceptionally proud of our team and partners that persevered during a pandemic to build and open a world-class community in Fairfax County without missing a beat,” said Bobby Zeiller, vice chairman and co-chief executive officer of Silverstone Senior Living. “We look forward to serving this community for a very long time.”

“It’s truly a joy to bring our nearly 30 years of assisted living experience to Fairfax,” said Karen Mlawsky, chief operating officer for Watermark Retirement Communities. “Our highly trained associates are here to provide best-in-class care, innovative programming and a wellness-inspired lifestyle to The Providence.”

Located within Fairfax’s MetroWest neighborhood at 9490 Sprague Avenue, The Providence offers assisted living, memory care and The Bridge, an intermediate level of care for those with mild cognitive impairment. Residents enjoy a wide variety of amenities such as concierge services, chef-driven restaurants, a rooftop terrace with firepit seating, fitness center, salon, and day spa.

With a focus on residents’ health, The Providence features innovations that reduce or prevent transmission of viruses. These include an enhanced filtration and HVAC system, cold plasma bi-polar ionization, relative humidity levels of 40-60% and touchless technology in common areas, among other measures. Through extensive research, planning and groundbreaking technology, The Providence is built with sustainable practices to support health and wellness and the environment and has achieved LEED Silver certification with the U.S. Green Building Council.
