Residents, Biz Owners Can Get Low Interest Loans for Disaster Repair

Loans can be used to repair and replace property damaged by Tropical Storm Lee.

Residents and business owners can apply for low-interest disaster loans to help fund repairs for damage caused by Tropical Storm Lee.

U.S. Small Business Administration loans can provide up to $200,000 for home repairs, $400,000 to replace clothing, furniture and other personal property, and up to $2 million for damaged businesses.

Interest rates range from 2.5 to 5 percent, or 3 to 6 percent for businesses and nonprofits.

Apply online or drop by one of two disaster outreach centers by Nov. 22 to apply. Centers are located at the Fairfax County South County Government Center (8350 Richmond Highway, Room 125) in Alexandria and Prince William County Frelazzo Building (15941 Donald Curtis Dr., Suite 140) in Woodbridge.

Tropical Storm Lee caused throughout Fairfax City, though most notably , on Sept. 8-9. The weather closed schools, caused power outages and in Northern Virginia.
