Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical Coming To Fairfax HS Stage

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — The Fairfax High School theater troupe, FX Players, will present Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical November 20-22. Tickets are available for $15 ($10 for students) on www.fxplayers.org or here and can also be purchased at the Fairfax High School box office on show dates.

The high-energy production features 85 students and centers around Matilda Wormwood, a precocious and somewhat magical girl whose neglectful and self-absorbed parents send her to a school with a vicious headmistress. Find out if Matilda’s intellect, bravery and telekinetic powers can help her to overcome cruelty and chart her own destiny.

“The themes of Matilda are especially relevant today, including courage, resilience, and the enduring power of good against evil,” said Chris Whitney, the director of FX Players. “Our talented cast brings this magical show to life with incredible vocals and a set that transports the audience into the schoolyard.”

There are only four performances of Matilda: Thursday, November 20 at 7pm; Friday, November 21 at 7pm and Saturday, November 22 at 2pm (matinee) and 7pm.
