Shake Shack Set To Open Fairfax City Location

An opening date has been set for Shake Shack's new location in Fairfax City's Kamp Washington Shopping Center.

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — Shake Shack, the hip restaurant chain that offers a gourmet take on fast-food classics, including the ShackBurger, crinkle-cut fries, and hand-spun shakes, is poised to open its new Fairfax City location.

Shake Shack Kamp Washington will officially open its doors at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 11040 Main St., according to a company spokeswoman. Regular hours are 11 a.m.-10 p.m., Sunday-Thursday; 11 a.m-10 p.m., Friday and Saturday.

"On opening day, the first wave of guests can expect to receive custom Shake Shack tote bags," the spokeswoman said.

Fairfax City Economic Development will be participating in a ribbon-cutting for the new restaurant at 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 17.

As part of its mission to Stand for Something Good, Shake Shack will donate $1 for every sandwich sold at the Kamp Washington Shack on Sept. 17 to Food for Others, to support the non-profit's work in distributing food to neighbors in need by mobilizing their giving community and volunteers.

On Aug. 28, Tatte Bakery & Cafe opened its first Fairfax City restaurant in the space adjacent to Shake Shack and the California Fish Grill Casual Kitchen will soon be opening its location across the parking lot in the Kamp Washington Shopping Center.

Within the last year or so, Blazin Chicken & Gyro, The Alley boba tea cafe, Haraz Yemeni Coffee, Sushi Friends Hashi and KPOT Korean BBQ & Hot Pot have all opened locations in Kamp Washington.
