This Week in Crime: Denny's Dine and Dash, Stolen Rifle Hand-Off

Fairfax City Police responded to three separate instances of graffiti, a stolen rifle hand-off and a Denny's dine and dash this week. Details:
- Someone(s) stole a television set from a woman's unlocked vehicle sometime after 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The car was parked on the 10500 block of Norman Avenue.
- Yesterday's Rose fell victim to vandalism on March 21. A passerby told police that sometime between midnight and just after noon someone(s) had spray painted graffiti on the side of the thrift store.
- A Foster Management parking garage on Unviersity Drive experienced a similar crime between 5 p.m. on April 1 and 8 a.m. April 4. Someone(s) spray painted graffiti on the walls of the parking garage.
- Police are looking for those who stole a West Drive woman's credit card and used it to make unauthorized purchases between February 18 and March 21.
- Denny's called police to report a dine and dash shortly after 1 p.m. on Monday. The suspects ate, drank and left without paying the bill.
- A Marshall's customer stuffed several items of mechandise into her purse and left without paying shortly before 2 p.m. on Monday.
- Police seek those who stole front and rear license plates from a vehicle parked on the 4200 block of Sideburn Road between 10:30-11 Sunday night.
- Don Elkins Auto Upholstery on Campbell Drive called police after employees realized someone(s) had taken four wheel covers, two spotlights, two mirrors and an air cleaner from a vehicle parked at the business. The crime occurred sometime after 2:30 p.m. on March 30.
- The McDonald's on Old Lee Highway got its own taste of vandalism Monday afternoon. A manager told police someone(s) had written on the doors and walls of the men's restroom with a magic marker.
- A man called police after watching an unknown man enter his vehicle in the Green Acres Community Center parking lot and steal change from his ashtray Monday afternoon. The suspect then left in another vehicle.
- A group of men were spotted placing a stolen rifle into a vehicle parked on the 10600 block of Elmont Court Sunday evening. One of the suspects said he had purchased the rifle (stolen in Warren County) from another suspect. Police arrested Scott Anthony Madden, 20, of Elmont Court and charged him with possession of a stolen firearm.
- Police are looking for the man who grabbed two 12-packs of beer from the 7-Eleven on Fairchester Drive Monday afternoon and left without paying.
