Traffic Alert: Roads Blocked for Saturday's CASA Run

Get the details of which roads will be affected by Saturday's 10k and 3k runs.

 

City of Fairfax Police are advising residents and commuters that some streets will be blocked off Saturday for the CASA Run for the Children.

This year’s Fairfax CASA Run, sponsored by the Fairfax Court Appointed Special Advocates, consists of a 10k beginning at 8:30 a.m. and a 3k beginning at 9 a.m.

The runs will both start and finish at the Fairfax County Courthouse in Old Town.

The event consists of courses for both runners and walkers, and will involve the use of residential streets and major roadways in both the City of Fairfax and the adjoining area of Fairfax County.

Police will be blocking off the right eastbound lane of Main Street between Judicial Drive and West Street, as well as the right southbound lane of Chain Bridge Road between the entrance to the Fairfax County Courthouse and School Street.

City of Fairfax police said they will be monitoring vehicular and pedestrian traffic during the event.

Those who will be traveling through the City on Saturday are encouraged to plan accordingly.
