City of Fairfax Firefighters Joe Charley, Shawn Dunstan, Craig Evans and Walter English demonstrate how to rescue an unconscious firefighter in tight quarters.

The "Denver Drill" is practiced by departments across the nation after a fatal 1992 fire in Denver.

Firefighter Mark Langvardt was trapped behind a narrow window, the floor behind him collapsed. He alerted the team by flashing a light out the window. It took the rescue crew 55 minutes to pull him from the burning building, long after he lost consciousness and died.
