Virginia Weather Forecast: Cooler Weekend, But Hot Week Around the Corner

Frost possible during overnight hours. By next week, the lows will be at 60 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

STERLING, VA — The weekend will be sunny and clear, with some noticeable wind. But we'll soon see a surprising return to hot temperatures, according to the National Weather Service.

Overnight lows will near 40 degrees Friday. Even cooler temperatures to our north and west has forecasters warning those areas of potential frost.

Days will be pleasant, with a chance for some clouds Sunday and a possible shower Sunday night. The weekend highs will be in the 60s and climbing to near 70 on Sunday.

Next week, we'll be seeing the opposite of chilly mornings, with overnight lows at 60 degrees. The daytime highs could push close to 80 degrees.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 63. North wind 5 to 7 mph.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 65. Calm wind becoming south around 6 mph in the afternoon.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 70. South wind 3 to 7 mph.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 77.
