Virginia Weather Forecast: Rain and Sleet (Snow For Some), Much Colder by Week's End
Western areas of the region that tend to see snow first could see snow falling by Tuesday. Here's the forecast:

STERLING, VA — We'll start the week with rain Monday and Tuesday, with sleet mixed in and maybe even a little snow for the western edge of the region. It'll clear before the weekend, but we'll eventually see some of the coldest temperatures so far this season.
Sunday night will bring rain, possibly mixed with sleet before becoming all rain after 1 a.m. Little or no sleet accumulation is expected.
Monday begins with rain, but clears through the day as high temperatures reach 52 — the highest temps we'll see this week.
