The City of Fairfax is currently seeking residents who want to make a difference in life in our town by filling a number of vacancies on official City boards and commissions.

- Board of Building Code Appeals: Two positions - Mechanical/Plumbing or Fire Protection Positions
- Commission for Women: vacancy
- Commission on Organ Tissue Donation and Transplantation: One City representative position
- Commission on the Arts: One business representative position
- Community Appearance Committee: One city resident or business representative
- Environmental Sustainability Committee: One city resident position
- Fairfax Alcohol Safety Action Program Policy Board: One for a city resident
- George Mason University Fairfax Campus Advisory Board: One Council designee position
- Northern Virginia Community College Board (effective June 30, 2013): One city resident position
- Parks and Recreation Advisory Board (effective Sept. 1, 2013): One city resident position
