UPDATE: Police Identify Woman in Fatal Hit and Run on I-66
A car hit the woman on westbound Interstate 66 early Saturday when she got out of her car to get something out of her trunk, police said.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- Virginia State Police are still searching for the suspect vehicle responsible for a fatal hit-and-run in Fairfax County early Saturday morning and have identified the woman who was killed.
Yesenia Esmeralda Funes, 37, of Manassas died at the scene, according to Virginia State Police. A female passenger seated inside the Toyota was not injured.
At 2:20 a.m., Saturday, Virginia State Police responded to a crash scene on Interstate 66 at the 56-mile marker in Fairfax County. A black Toyota Solara traveling west on I-66 pulled off onto the shoulder so the driver could retrieve something from the trunk. As the driver was walking alongside the car, she was struck by a passing vehicle.

The suspect vehicle is described as a charcoal gray or black, newer-model sedan – possibly a Toyota Corolla - missing its passenger-side mirror and with damage to its passenger side wheel well. The crash remains under investigation.
