Woman, GMU Staff Recognized for Rescuing Infant

The woman called police after seeing an infant left behind in an overheated car.

A woman was recognized this week for calling police after noticing a baby was left in a locked car in a parking lot.  

Mary Matalas was presented an award along earlier this week along with several GMU officers and dispatchers, according to a press release from the university.

Matalas called police after noticing the baby in the car at the Mason Inn on June 7. She did not immediately return calls from Patch for comment.
