Woman Hides in Giant After Closing, Law Firm Burglar Claims Safe, Dolly
Fairfax City crime in the last week.

Fairfax City police arrested a woman who hid in a Giant Food store and allegedly spent the night stealing groceries. Officers are also on the lookout for suspects in two other burglaries. Details:
- A William L. Schmidt and Associates manager told police an unknown person(s) stole a safe and dolly from the office between 7:30 p.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday. The safe held checks and credit cards.
- Police arrested a Burke woman who allegedly hid in a Giant Food store on Fairfax Boulevard and spent the August night moving stolen merchandise from the closed store to a vehicle in the parking lot. Joan Rene Connelly, 47 was arrested and charged with burglary and petit larceny.
- A Cornwall Road resident contacted police after an unknown person(s) forced open a door and went inside his house. between 1:30-4:30 p.m. Sunday. They did not take anything.
- Detectives also arrested Joshua Gault, 19, of Herndon on Feb. 2 and charged him in connection with a Dec. 31-Jan. 1 burglary.
