FBI: Bank Robbery Work of Serial 'Forever Loyal' Bandit

FBI reports Saturday's bank robbery in the Falls Church area was the work of a serial bank robbery suspect wanted for six robberies.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- UPDATE 2:25 p.m. The FBI reports Monday that Saturday's bank robbery was the work of a serial bank robber dubbed the "Forever Loyal" bandit.

The Capital One Bank at 7501 Leesburg Pike was robbed Saturday at around 9:40 a.m. Police say he passed a note to a teller and indicated he had a weapon. Police say he fled on foot. The FBI says that Saturday's bank robbery is the sixth robbed in the area by the suspect.

The suspect went quiet for about six months. His last robbery before Saturday's was in November.

Here's the rundown of bank robberies:

  • On Saturday, August 9, 2014, a male subject robbed the SunTrust Bank located at 5821 Crossroads Center in Falls Church, Virginia. The subject passed a note to the victim bank teller that demanded money.
  • On Monday, July 21, 2014, the same subject robbed the Capital One Bank located at 6367 Seven Corners Center in Falls Church during which he passed a note to the victim teller that demanded money and implied that he had a weapon.
  • On Friday, June 27, 2014, the subject robbed the Capital One Bank located at 5851 Crossroads Center in Falls Church. Again, he entered the bank and passed a note to a victim teller that demanded money.
  • On Friday, October 30, 2015, at approximately 5:30 p.m., the same individual entered the Capital One Bank located at 6367 Seven Corners Center in Fairfax, Virginia, approached one of the tellers and passed a note demanding money. An undisclosed amount of cash was handed over and the subject fled. The subject was described as a black male, approximately in his forties with facial hair.
  • On Friday, November 6, 2015, at approximately 4:00 p.m., a male subject entered the Capital One Bank located at 3532 Columbia Pike in Arlington, Virginia. The subject approached a teller and produced a note demanding money. Upon receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the subject fled the bank.

The suspect was described as a black male, 30 to 40 years old, 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall, stocky build, and was wearing a light blue shirt and a dark colored baseball hat, according to police.
