Drunk Man Inappropriately Touched Children at 4th of July Event: Police

A concerned resident called police when they noticed the man grabbing at children, police said.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- Police say a drunk man inappropriately touched two young children at a holiday celebration in the Bailey's Crossroads area Monday night.

Fairfax County Police were called to the 3600 block of Barcroft View Terrace Monday night at about 9:44 p.m., according to police.

A concerned resident called police to report that a man was grabbing children in a common area of the apartment complex (see map below) during a fireworks display, police said.

Responding officers located the suspect who appeared to be highly intoxicated, according to police.

Witnesses said they saw the suspect inappropriately touch two boys; one four years old, the other six years old, police said.

A parent intervened and the children were not injured.

The suspect, Maximino Hercules Ayala, 29, of no fixed address, was arrested and transported to the adult detention center where he was charged with two counts of attempted abduction and being drunk in public.
