Fake Checks? Police Charge Woman with Forgery
Police say the Manassas woman came to Bailey's Crossroads and tried to use what appeared to be phony checks.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- Police say they've charged a woman with forgery after she attempted to use what appeared to be a fake check in Bailey's Crossroads.

Police responded to the 6000 block of Leesburg Pike in Bailey's Crossroads Thursday at 7:34 p.m. to a report of a woman attempting to use what appeared to be a fake check, according to Fairfax County Police.
Further investigation revealed that the suspect had several fake checks in her possession, police said.

April Burkhart, 38, of Manassas, was charged with two counts of forgery and attempting to obtain money by false pretenses, police said.
