Falls Church Building Evacuated Monday After Suspicious Note Found: City

A building at 900 S. Washington was evacuated after a threatening note was found Monday morning.

Falls Church Police gave the "all clear" after sweeping a building at 900 S. Washington St. in Falls Church Monday morning, when a threatening note was found in the lobby, according to City spokeswoman Susan Finarelli.

The building houses a health clinic that offers women's health services including abortions, but the clinic was not mentioned in the note, Finarelli said.

Dozens of people who work in the building were evacuated and waited it out Monday standing in a nearby 7-Eleven parking lot.

Police used police explosive ordnance disposal dogs from Fairfax County Police to sweep the building, checking for any explosive devices; none were found, according to police.

Finarelli said they are not disclosing the exact contents of the note, but she did say it was not handwritten. An employee who works at the building found the note in the lobby Monday morning, she said.
