Falls Church Chef Amongst 50 in Food & Wine Pastry Contest
Pastry Chef Caitlin Dysart of 2941 Restaurant is competing in The People's Best New Pastry Chef contest.

It’s sweet when local chefs compete in national contests and bring notoriety to Falls Church.
Pastry Chef Caitlin Dysart, of 2941 Restaurant, is giving it a go in the FoodandWine.com’s “The People’s Best New Pastry Chef” contest. People can vote for the 50 nominees, including Dysart, right here. Polls opened Monday and close April 8 at 5 p.m. Three regional winners will be announced sometime this month and the overall winner will be announced and featured in their July publication.
“I am extremely honored and excited to be included in Food and Wine’s The People's Best New Pastry Chef 2013 awards,” Dysart said in a release. “Six years ago, I decided to give working in a pastry kitchen a try because I thought I might like it; I didn't realize I had found a career that would inspire me so much. I have been fortunate in my time here at 2941 to grow from a pastry cook to a pastry chef, and sharing my desserts with our guests has been deeply rewarding.”
