Falls Church Education Foundation Set for Annual Gala
More than 200 people expected to attend event.
Laurie Clark has found if fun chairing the Falls Church Education Foundation gala. The first time chair said the gala’s silent and live auctions are packed with everything from golf packages to a match against the championship George Mason Scholastic Bowl team.
“We were aiming to have our net profit at $75,000,” Clark said. “Now we’re looking at $80,000.”
More than 200 people are expected to attend the gala Friday night at the . Tickets will be sold through Monday at $125 each. All proceeds from ticket sales will go to the foundation, Clark said. Funds raised will support the foundation’s programs while the gala will let the public know what the foundation offers.

Clark and several volunteers began planning the gala in November. Besides the dinner portion of the gala, Clark said there will also be dancing this year. Clark said she believes the auctions will be a hit amongst the crowd.
“Between the silent and live auction we’re talking about between $25,000 to $30,000,” Clark said.
