Falls Church School Board Election 2023: 3 Candidates On Ballot
Three Falls Church School Board seats are up for grabs in the Nov. 7 election, and only one incumbent is seeking re-election.

FALLS CHURCH, VA — The Falls Church School Board will be one of the races on the ballot for City of Falls Church voters on Nov. 7, 2023. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day.
Three of seven school board seats are on the ballot, and three candidates are running in the general election. School board members are elected for four-year terms and set policies for Falls Church City Public Schools, including annual budgets and capital project schedules. FCCPS is one of Northern Virginia's small school divisions, serving thousands of students.
Candidates for school board include Jerrod Anderson, who was chosen earlier in 2023 for a seat vacated by Phil Reitinger. Other candidates include Bethany Henderson and Amie Murphy, both of whom applied for the open School Board seat earlier this year. Two incumbents — school board Chair Laura Downs and school board member Dr. Susan Dimock — announced their intention to not seek re-election earlier this year.
