George Marshall Students Campaign For Saddam Salim In Primary

Six friends from George C. Marshall High School worked at the polls during Tuesday's primary, campaigning for Democrat Saddam Salim.

FALLS CHURCH, VA — Six students from George C. Marshall High School spent Tuesday working at the polls during the Democratic Party primary.

Tammy Jimenez, Samad Quraishi, Eleanor Liang, Cyrus Sharafi, Vedansh Garg, Hanna Rohde and Nia Gouvis also campaigned for Saddam Salim, who defeated incumbent Sen. Chap Petersen in the Virginia Senate race for the District 37 seat.

The six volunteers convinced dozens of people to vote for Salim, according to the GCM Democrats.

Salim will next face Republican Ken Reid in the Nov. 7 general election.
