Power Outage: More Than 200 Still Without Power Sunday Night in Falls Church

FALLS CHURCH, VA -- More than 200 homes in Falls Church were still without power late Sunday evening, after high winds whipped the region, according to Dominion Virginia Power.

In all, there were 436 homes without power Sunday morning in Falls Church, 25,539 homes without power across Northern Virginia and 16,198 homes without power in Fairfax County, according to Dominion.

By Sunday night, 203 homes in Falls Church were still without power, while temperatures began to plummet, expected to get into the 30s. Dominion estimated that power would be restored by midnight.

Arlington saw nearly 2,000 outages at its peak and about 200 homes were still without power Sunday night; Dominion noted that those homes could be waiting as late as Monday afternoon to see their power restored.

Alexandria also saw hundreds of outages and was down to just one home without power late Sunday night.
