Possible Second Gunshot Incident Reported in Falls Church: Police

FALLS CHURCH, VA -- Falls Church Police are investigating a possible second incident of gunshots in the City, officials announced Monday.

Police say that at about 8:30 p.m. Friday, City of Falls Church Police received a call about a suspicious sound near Jackson Street or W. Rosemary Lane or Seaton Lane (see map below) that could have been gunshots.

Officers searched the area and found no evidence of injury or damage to property, police said. Officers spoke with those who heard the gunshots, but they were unable to determine exactly where the the sound came from. If confirmed to be gunshots, this would be the second incident of such activity in that area in one week.

At about 12:30 a.m. on Jan. 23, a resident called to report five to six gunshots on Jackson Street. Officers found no injuries or damage to property.

In the daylight, another resident found shell casings on the street.The City of Falls Church Police appreciate the citizens who reported the suspicious sounds and the shell casings.
