Stuart HS Back to School Block Party, Choralis Audition, and Story Time at Barnes and Noble

J.E.B. Stuart High School Block Party: J.E.B. Stuart High School will start a new tradition with its inaugural block party tonight from 4 to 6 p.m. Visitors will be able to enjoy music, food for sale, and fun activities to kick off the start of school.
Sing It Out: Choralis will host auditions for its mixed-voice chorus Wednesday and Thursday night at Falls Church Presbyterian Church. Singers should bring a piece to sing in any style, and include pieces for the director and accompanist. Singers will be tested on aural skills and sight reading. We’ve all seen what happens "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie" and help us all "If You Give a Moose a Muffin" so what happens “If You Take a Mouse to School”? Kids can find out while listening to the book by Laura Numeroff and Felicia Bond at Barnes & Noble in Clarendon Market Commons. Three presidents will commemorate the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech at the base of the Lincoln Memorial. The event opens at 9 a.m. with an 11 a.m. program start time.
A Day Like No Other: Commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the March on Washington photo exhibit is on display at the Library of Congress, Thomas Jefferson Building. The exhibit, which is open through March 1 includes 40 black and white images by the daily press, independent photographers and others.
