Tea with Mrs. B Brings Tea Parties and Etiquette Lessons to Falls Church

Rebecca Czarniecki is an etiquette expert, teaching children, teens, and adults about manners.

It’s only natural that Czarniecki, also known as “Mrs. B.,” opened her special events tearoom in Falls Church this month. Tea with Mrs. B. celebrated its grand opening in The Little City on Sept. 8.

For the last five years, Czarniecki has been hosting teas and other special events teaching children and adults modern and traditional etiquette. Czarniecki used to operate her tearooms in McLean and in Bethesda, but was prompted to move to Falls Church after a series of events. The rent increased at her Bethesda location, her sister became her business partner, and she was in the process of adopting her second child when the opportunity to open in Falls Church presented itself.

“I love being in The Little City,” Czarniecki said. “It’s closer to home. When I first moved to the East Coast, I lived in Arlington. I’m thrilled to be here.”

Czarniecki holds a master’s degree in international studies from the University of Denver. She has always been a traveler and decided to teach etiquette for a number of reasons, including being inspired by her grandmother’s Southern heritage. She began hosting tea parties after her five-year-old neighbor asked her to help host a tea party.

“The common denominator in any culture is that those with manners can anticipate invitations to programs and dinners,” Czarniecki explained. “You can utilize manners in a variety of settings.”

Czarniecki takes a unique and engaging approach to teaching manners and etiquette. She creates lessons catered to her students’ individual needs.

“It can be a lot of fun,” Czarniecki said. “You need to practice daily to get good at it.”
