UPDATE: Police Identify Eden Center Shooting Victims

Police still don't have a motive in the two shootings.

Tuesday, police identified the two men found shot to death Saturday night at the Eden Center.

Susan Finarelli, spokeswoman for the City of Falls Church, said Tai “Peter” Phan, 49, was shot and then fled on foot across the before being found dead behind a building.

The Vu, 39, was found inside a car behind another building at the shopping center with a gunshot wound to the head.

Finarelli said the same caliber handgun shot the two men and police are looking to see if the same gun was used in the shootings.

She said witness descriptions of the shooter match Vu, and Police have established that the men knew each other.

Police have not yet determined a motive, Finarelli said.

SUNDAY: Two people are dead following shootings in the 6700 block of Wilson Blvd. near the Eden Center.

Police said one person was pronounced dead by paramedics when they arrived on the scene. The man was reportedly shot as he exited his car and died after running a short distance, the Washington Post is reporting

A second person was found a short time later in a vehicle nearby.

The second person pronounced dead by a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to a City of Falls Church police release.

The shootings happened late Saturday evening. Police have no other information they can release at this point.
