The million-dollar Powerball ticket was the only one in the U.S. to have matched the first five numbers. No tickets from the Jan.13 drawing had all six numbers, which would’ve earned a ticket holder a $285 million jackpot. That means Wednesday’s Powerball jackpot will grow to an estimated $303 million.
The person with the million-dollar Powerball ticket has 180 days from the drawing date to contact the Virginia Lottery. Winners are advised to contact the lottery office as soon as possible and sign the back of their ticket to establish ownership.
