2 Hospitalized Following Shooting In Downtown Fredericksburg: Police

Fredericksburg police are searching for a man they say was involved in a shooting that sent two people to the hospital Thursday night.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Two people were hospitalized following a shooting that occurred Thursday night in Fredericksburg, according to authorities

Shortly before 8 p.m., officers from the Fredericksburg Police Department and emergency medical personnel responded to the 800 block of William Street for the report of shots being fired, according to the incident report.

The first victim was located and received medical treatment on the scene, according to police. During their investigation, the officers identified the second shooting victim. Both victims were taken to the hospital for medical treatment. As of 2 p.m. on Friday, they were both listed in stable condition.

On Friday afternoon, police were still trying to locate a third party involved in the shooting, who was shirtless and wore gray joggers, according to police. A preliminary investigation determined that the shooting was an isolated incident and that the three parties knew each other.
