VA Small Plane Crash Injures 2: State Police
Virginia State Police said the plane had taken off from Leesburg and was en route to Hampton Roads when it crashed.
FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Two people were hospitalized Wednesday after a small plane crashed in Spotsylvania County, according to Virginia State Police.
Authorities said the crash occurred around 3 p.m. in the 11000 block of Scarlet Oak Road.
The plane, a Beechcraft, had taken off from Leesburg and was en route to Hampton Roads. Police said the pilot reported an oil pressure issue and attempted to make an emergency landing in a field before the plane crashed.

The two people on board the plane were taken to Mary Washington Hospital with minor injuries.
The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board have been notified.
