2 Killed In Separate Spotsylvania Crashes: Police
Two people died on Friday morning in a pair of unrelated crashes in Spotsylvania County, the sheriff's office told Patch.
SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, VA — Two people died on Friday in a pair of unrelated car crashes in Spotsylvania County, the county sheriff's office told Patch.
Zakary McCloud, a 24-year-old man, died in a single-vehicle crash on Flippo Drive, authorities said. Rachel Nievas, a 36-year-old woman, died in a head-on collision with another vehicle on Brock Road.
A 70-year-old driver also suffered serious injuries in the crash on Brock Road, the Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office told Patch.

The first crash occurred around 6:30 a.m. on Friday morning. Investigators said McCloud was driving a 2010 Toyota Corolla on southbound Flippo Drive when he ran slightly off the road and overcorrected.
The car then slid into a ditch, flipped, and hit a tree. McCloud was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, according to authorities.

Friday's second fatal crash occurred in the 9900 block of Brock Road. Nieves was driving a 2007 Saturn westbound on Brock Road when she crossed the double-yellow line, the sheriff's office said.
The Saturn crashed into an eastbound Jeep Cherokee. Authorities said Nieves died at the scene of the crash. First responders took the 70-year-old driver of the Jeep to an area hospital with serious injuries.
