$254K Jackpot Won By Fredericksburg Woman Playing VA Lottery Instant Game

A Fredericksburg woman plans to use the money she won playing a Virginia Lottery instant game to help her retire.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — A Fredericksburg woman recently won more than $254,000 playing Bison Stampede, on of the many online instant games found on the Virginia Lottery app.

Ann Parks, a custodial supervisor from Fredericksburg, decided to play Bison Stamped game and suddenly discovered that she'd won a jackpot worth $254,833.

“I didn’t know what to do," Parks told Lottery officials. She thought to herself, “Did I really win this money?” Parks said she plans to use her winnings to retire.

Bison Stampede is one of dozens of online instant games available on the Virginia Lottery app and at valottery.com. The jackpot grows as more people play. The odds of winning any prize in this game are 1 in 3.59.

Profits from the Virginia Lottery help fund K-12 education across the state. During the last fiscal year, Fredericksburg City received more than $2.5 million in Lottery funds for K-12 education. In Fiscal Year 2025, the Lottery raised more than $901 million for K-12 education, making up approximately 10 percent of Virginia’s total K-12 school budget.
