27 Health Code Violations Found At Fredericksburg Eatery: Report
Rappahannock Area Health District inspectors reported violations at 14 of the 20 Fredericksburg food establishments they recently visited.
FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Of the 20 Fredericksburg food establishments Rappahannock Area Health District inspectors visited between Oct. 15 and 22, 14 had health code violations.
During an Oct. 21 visit, an inspector reported finding 27 violations at Logan's Roadhouse located at 3106 Spotsylvania Mall Drive.
Violations ranged from the restaurant operator being unable to explain to employees how to properly clean and sanitize kitchen equipment to not storing food at the proper temperature to prevent spoilage.

The inspector reported finding a container of potato salad that had been held for eight days after it had been prepared. It should've been discarded two days earlier.
An inspector who visited El Gran Charro Mexican Restaurant at 5825 Plank Road 101 & 103 on Oct. 20 found kitchen staff using a molcajete to prepare food. The traditional Mexican mortar and pestle was not sealed and therefore not cleanable.

"EHS informed the person in charge no foods can be prepared in the molcajete unless a bowl is placed inside to act as a barrier," according to the inspection report. "The person in charge agreed to use a small stainless steel bowl inside the molcajete.
Previously, Patch reported that inspectors found 55 violations at Sushi Kola during an Oct. 14 inspection. A follow-up inspection on Oct. 20 revealed that the restaurant was in compliance with health code requirements.
