2nd Suspect Charged In Shooting Of 16-Year-Old: Sheriff's Office
A Spotsylvania County man was arrested in connection to Sunday night's shooting with injuries west of Fredericksburg, according to reports.
FREDERICKSBURG, VA — A Spotsylvania County man is facing multiple charges, including unlawful shooting and malicious wounding, in connection to the shooting of a 16-year-old Monday night in a neighborhood west of Fredericksburg, according to authorities.
On Thursday, sheriff's deputies arrested 18-year-old Leysean Anthony Blair, charging him with discharging a firearm within a right of way, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, unlawful shooting, malicious wounding, and gang participation, according to the sheriff's office.
Deputies responded around 6:30 p.m. for the report of a shooting in the 10900 block of Taney Drive. Once there, the deputies found a 16-year-old suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the abdomen, according to the incident report.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.After obtaining descriptions from witnesses of two people thought to be involved in the shooting, deputies located the two individuals in a nearby street, according to the sheriff's office.
"During the encounter, one individual began making furtive movements toward his waistband," according to the incident report. "A brief struggle ensued, during which deputies recovered a firearm from the 15-year-old suspect. Both individuals were detained. The 15-year-old was arrested and charged with possession of a concealed weapon and possession of a firearm by a person under the age of 18."
