Here are five outstanding nonprofit groups you should know about in the Fredericksburg area:

• Fredericksburg SPCA
  • The Fredericksburg SPCA helps animals find homes. They also assist animals who need medical care through the Locke Community Medical Center.
• Fredericksburg Volunteer Rescue Squad
  • The Fredericksburg Volunteer Rescue Squad has helped keep the area safe for more than 80 years. The rescue squad's volunteer EMTs and firefighters respond to 911 calls to assist people in need.
• Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank
  • The Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank is working to end hunger in the region. They connect people in need with hundreds of community partners and food assistance program. In 2022, the food bank distributed more than 5 million pounds of food to those in need, according to their website.
• Lloyd F. Moss Free Clinic
