Moldy Tiramisu Cake Found At Fredericksburg Restaurant: Inspection
Rappahannock Area Health District inspectors found health code violations at nine of the 20 food establishments they visited recently.
FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Rappahannock Area Health District inspectors found health code violations at nine of the 20 food establishments they visited Nov. 24-Dec. 4.
During a Dec. 3 visit to Interstate Lounge & Bar- NY Grill at 537 Warrenton Road, an inspector noticed what appeared to be mold on a prepackaged slice of tiramisu cake located in the display reach-in cooler located in the front of the house.
Although the cakes are bought whole from an approved wholesaler, the person in charge cuts and portions them at the restaurant. The moldy slice of tiramisu cake was discarded and the restaurant will ensure that food is safe, unadulterated, and honestly presented from now on, according to the inspection report.
