Arrests Dismantle Third Larceny Ring in Spotsy

Two adults and a juvenile were linked to more than 30 vehicle break-ins. Where an arrest is mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s detectives solved a string of vehicle larcenies and recovered a stolen vehicle with the arrest of two adult males and a juvenile.

"This is the third larceny ring our detectives and patrol deputies have dismantled in the last two months,” Sheriff Roger L. Harris, said.

"The suspects have been linked by detectives to over 30 vehicle break-ins and one stolen auto in Spotsylvania County," Harris said.  The recovered stolen property is primarily from the Fawn Lake, Fox Chase and Lake Wilderness 1 and 2 neighborhoods.

The adults are identified as Matthew L. Truslow, 22, and Richard M. Brown, 21, both of Spotsylvania County. The 17 year old juvenile was released to parents.

“Our deputies take this type of crime very seriously, and we have spent long hours investigating these criminal activities and uncovering the identities of the suspects,” Harris said.
