Beauty Shop Burglarized

Beauty shop burglary one of several larcenies reported in Fredericksburg overnight. Read more details in today's City Blotter.

BURGLARY:

Gita’s Beauty Supply, 1909 Dixon St, Sept. 24 8:00 p.m. – Sept. 26 10:00 a.m. The owner reported that an unknown person or persons broke the glass panes of the back door and entered the business, stealing cash, a laptop computer, and other items of value. The investigation is ongoing.

1100 block Townsend Blvd, Sept. 25 11:00 a.m. – 11:30 p.m. A resident reported that her moped was stolen from in front of her apartment building. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

800 block Cobblestone Blvd, Sept. 24 5:30 p.m. – Sept. 26 8:30 a.m. A foreman reported that a quantity of copper wire was stolen from the construction site. The investigation is ongoing.

Mary Washington Hospital, 1001 Sam Perry Blvd, Sept. 14 – Sept. 26 2:00 p.m. A Centreville resident reported that a vehicle belonging to a patient was stolen from the parking lot. The vehicle is a gray Toyota Avalon with Virginia license plates. The investigation is ongoing.

800 block Charlotte St, 6/1 – Sept. 17 12:00 p.m. A realtor reported that two of his signs had been stolen from the property over the past few months. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

ABC Store, 1416 Carl D Silver Pkwy, Sept. 26 4:15 p.m. An employee reported that a male subject grabbed two bottles of liquor and ran from the store. The suspect was described as a black male wearing an orange hooded windbreaker. No known suspects at this time.

300 block Hanover St, Sept. 24 – Sept. 25 4:30 p.m. A resident reported that prescription medication was stolen from her purse. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

500 block Jefferson Davis Hwy, Sept. 26 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. A UMW student reported that she accidentally left her purse on top of her vehicle and drove away from the parking deck, losing the purse at an unknown exact location. Later she checked her credit card accounts and found that someone had attempted to use one of her cards at a local business. The investigation is ongoing.

Quaker Steak and Lube, 1300 Central Park Blvd, Sept. 26 11:15 p.m. A manager reported that four male subjects left the restaurant without paying their bill. The investigation is ongoing.

VANDALISM:

Pat Grimes Inc, 2303 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Sept. 23 5:15 p.m. – Sept. 26 8:00 a.m. An employee reported that a rock was thrown through the window of his vehicle. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

Commons at Cowan Blvd, 2352 Cowan Blvd, Sept. 23 5:30 p.m. – Sept. 26 9:00 a.m. An employee reported that graffiti was found on the door to an office. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

Fall Hill Apartments, 100 Weston Dr, Sept. 26 9:00 p.m. A resident reported that he heard a loud noise and found all of the glass broken out of the façade between the second and third floors. He also saw two male subjects running from the scene. The investigation is ongoing.

ARRESTS: Ashley Simms, 23, of Fredericksburg was arrested for assault and battery.
