STAFFORD, VA—A simple traffic stop quickly turned bizarre early Thursday in the area of 428 Garrisonville Road, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office. When all the weirdness finally came to a conclusion, Terrence Tiller, 33, of Stafford, was charged with driving under the influence, driving under the influence while DUI-revoked, obstruction of justice, carrying a concealed weapon without a permit, fictitious registration, expired inspection, speeding and failure to obey a traffic light.
Around 1 a.m., an officer pulled over Tiller for speeding and running a red light. Tiller said he left his license at home, so the officer went back to his cruiser and found that Tiller's license had been revoked for a DUI-related offense.
When the officer returned to the pulled-over vehicle, Tiller had locked all the doors and refused to get out. Backup units arrived, and police told him they would break the window if he didn't get out. Tiller again refused, so police indeed broke the window and removed him from the vehicle.
