All Lanes Of I-95 South Reopen After Earlier Brush Fire Caused Delays

All lanes of southbound I-95 reopened to traffic after an earlier brush fire caused nearly 8 miles of delays on Monday afternoon.

STAFFORD, VA — All lanes of southbound I-95 reopened around 1:30 p.m. on Monday near exit 148 (Quantico), according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

Around midday on Monday, a brush fire near the Prince William/Stafford border forced the closure of all but one southbound lanes, causing nearly 8 miles of backups.

VDOT advised drivers to expect some delays to continue as traffic unsnarls following the closures.
