Burglary at Eileen’s Bakery

An employee encountered the suspect as she arrived for work.

An Eileen's Bakery & Cafe employee reported that she found the door ajar when she arrived at work at  about 4:45 a.m. Tuesday, Natatia Bledsoe, City of Fredericksburg Police spokesperson, said.

The staff member assumed another employee was already inside, so she attempted to open the door.  The burglar alarm sounded, so she backed away from the entrance.

Moments later, a male subject exited from the business and walked away toward Sophia Street.  Police arrived and documented damage to the door and collected evidence from inside the business, Bledsoe said.
