Cell Phone Thieves Arrested In Stafford: Police
Police have arrested two people in connection with a string a cell phone thefts from businesses throughout the area, according to the SCSO.
STAFFORD, VA—Police arrested two people Wednesday in connection with a string a cell phone thefts from businesses throughout the area, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office. Kenneth Wingfield, 22, and Mostapha Atwa, 21, both of Newport News, were charged with grand larceny, larceny with intent to sell and conspiracy. A third suspect has not been identified.
Shortly before 7:45 p.m. on March 5, police were summoned to a reported larceny in the Verizon store at 15 South Gateway Drive. An employee said three unknown men removed four phones from a display area and left without paying. The phones had a total value of more than $3,100.
A similar incident involving the same three men occurred later that night in Spotsylvania County. Turns out they also hit an At&T sore at 28 South Gateway Drive on Dec. 7, 2018. Five cell phones worh more than $3,800 were stolen from a display counter.

Police found that the men also had been involved in numerous cell phone thefts in other parts of Virginia, and also Maryland.
