Child Cruelty Charges Dropped

The charges were related to an incident on November 10, 2010, when Seay called police because she didn't know where her 7-year-old daughter was. When deputies arrived Seay told them she hadn't seen her daughter since 8:45 the prior night when she put the child to bed. Detectives eventually found the girl at the home of a neighbor, who had taken the child in from the cold and fed her breakfast.

Child Protective Services was called in and after an interview Seay was arrested and charged with child endangerment. The children were handed over to relatives, Timm said.

In April, Seay was not guilty in Fredericksburg Circuit Court trials over a DUI and two charges of child endangerment relating to an August arrest in the city. On Aug. 27, an officer stopped a vehicle driven by Seay on Route 1 near the Fredericksburg Shopping Center, across from James Monroe High School, after watching the car stop and then back up, according to department PIO Natatia Bledsoe. The car also ran into the curb before the officer stopped Seay. While being questioned by the officer, Seay allegedly said she had taken Ambien.
