City EconDev Office to Meet With Route 1 Biz's

City officials plan to update attendants on economic development plans for the Route 1 Corridor in Fredericksburg.

The Fredericksburg Department of Economic Development and Tourism will be holding a meeting with Route 1 corridor businesses later this month to update them on economic plans for the area. On hand will be Jeff Rountree, CEO of the University of Mary Washington Foundation, who will be delivering an update on the

The meeting is on Tuesday, Sept. 20 from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at the Fredericksburg Area Chamber of Commerce at 2300 Fall Hill Ave. This is the third time that Route 1 corridor business and property owners, which includes the area from William Street to the Rappahannock River 

"The purpose of the meetings is to keep property owners, business operators and other stakeholders informaed about economic development activites and plans in the corridor and to exchange ideas and information about improving the conomic vitality of the corridor," reads a release from the EDT office.

The release asks interested attendants to RSVP by Friday, Sept. 16 to guarantee a seat. RSVP's can be sent by email or phone to aperegoy@fredericksburgva.gov or 540-372-1216, respectively.
