City Resident Shot with Pneumatic Gun

A city resident reported a neighbor threatened her verbally while she was walking down the sidewalk in the 800 block Lafayette Blvd. about 5 p.m. Wednesday, Fredericksburg Police spokesperson Natatia Bledsoe said. The neighbor then displayed what appeared to be a black handgun and reportedly shot BBs in her direction. The victim was not injured.
During the investigation, a pneumatic gun was recovered from the suspect’s porch and seized for evidence. Michael Strader, 53, of Fredericksburg was arrested for misdemeanor brandishing and possession of a firearm after being convicted of a felony. Strader was incarcerated at the Rappahannock Regional Jail under no bond.

2500 block Carriage Ln, 5/28 -5/29 1:00 a.m. A city resident reported that an unknown person stole a package that had been delivered to his door. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

VRE Lot G, 300 block Prince Edward St, 5/29 6:30 a.m. – 10:50 p.m. A commuter reported that an unknown person broke two windows on his vehicle and stole the small amount of loose change that was in the vehicle’s cup holder. No suspects or witnesses at this time.
