Cole Defeats Steinway In 65th District HOD Race: Precinct By Precinct Results

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — In Tuesday's election, incumbent Democrat Joshua Cole defeated Republican Sean Steinway in the Virginia House of Delegates race in the 65th District, according to unofficial results from the Virginia Department of Elections.

The 65th District includes Fredericksburg City and portions of Spotsylvania and Stafford counties. Cole garnered 20,009 total votes (58.42%) districtwide, compared to Steinway's 14,179 votes (41.39%), according to the unofficial results.

Winning 12 of the district's 19 precincts, Cole swept all five Fredericksburg City precincts and six of the 10 precincts in Stafford County.

While Cole also won two of the four precincts in Spotsylvania County, no votes from the Chancellor High precinct had been reported as of 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, according to the department of elections.

Steinway's strongest showings were in Stafford County, where he won the Grafton, Ferry Farm, Chatham, and White Oaks precincts. Steinway more than doubled Cole's totals at White Oaks, receiving 1,178 votes (68.85%) compared to Cole's 528 (30.86%).
